Day 2
Ogies/Witbank- After a fantastic evening with our host Anthony, the president of the Witbank Rotary Club we headed back to Ogies to start the 60 km walk to Middleburg. Since the day was a lighter walking day we really took the opportunity to slow down the pace a bit and to take in more of the scenery as well as each other’s company. Riona was still with us for this day, and that made it easier to cover more kilometers. By 2:30pm we had arrived on the main road into Middleburg and we were met by three members of the Rotaract Club of Middleburg to walk with us into town and to our accommodation at the Care Village for children, a Rotary sponsored programme. The evening was another great dinner as Rotarians and Rotaractors from Middleburg organized a burger braai. According to Bogane the burgers were the best he had ever tasted!
