On December 1, 2007 (World AIDS Day), we will leave Johannesburg, South Africa, en route through Mpumalanga to Durban, South Africa (roughly 800km/500 miles). As we hike for the next 21 days, we will visit Rotary Clubs and their HIV/AIDS projects which benefit orphans and vulnerable children, including Noah (Nurturing Orphans of AIDS for Humanity) Ark sites. Working together with Rotaractors, Rotarians, and other kind people the world over, we hope to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS, as well as money for HIV/AIDS projects for orphans and vulnerable children. We look forward to learning the stories of those involved with the projects and those who are served within the projects and to gain a better understanding of our part in the fight against AIDS in South Africa and the world.
